What we collect

When you book a service, call, text, visit a shop or contact us through this website, we collect the information you provide: your name, phone number, email address, vehicle details, and a description of the service you need. We also record whether you agreed to service texts and/or promotional texts, and when and how you agreed or opted out. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar tools (such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, CallRail call tracking, which may show a different phone number on our pages, and the Meta pixel) that collect usage data such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and ad-click codes. To measure which of our ads led to a customer, we may send Google and Meta the ad-click code and your email address and phone number in hashed (one-way scrambled) form. We never send them your text-message opt-in or consent status.

How we use it

We use your contact and vehicle information to schedule appointments, prepare estimates, perform and warranty repairs, and follow up about your service. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers we use to run the business (scheduling, payments, call tracking, messaging, customer-management, analytics), who may only use it on our behalf, and the hashed ad-measurement data described above. You can opt out of personalized ads through Google's and Meta's ad settings.

Calls

If you give us your phone number, we may call you about your appointment or your vehicle. Calls may be recorded for quality and training.

Text Messages (SMS)

Total Auto Works offers two separate, optional text programs. Service texts are appointment confirmations and reminders, estimate and repair updates, vehicle-ready notices, payment links, and replies to your questions. Promotional texts are service specials and offers, maintenance-due reminders, and requests to review your visit. You choose each one separately, and agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything or getting service.

If you text us first, we will reply and continue that conversation; that does not sign you up for either program. If you call one of our shops and we miss your call, we may send you one text from the number you called to ask how we can help.

Service text frequency varies with your appointments and repairs. Promotional texts: up to 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. Details, including how to opt out by phone, email or in person, are in our Text Messaging Terms. Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Text messaging privacy. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your text-message opt-in and consent with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with service providers that run our texting and customer systems for us (such as our phone, messaging and customer-management providers), who may use them only to provide those services to us. We never send your text-message opt-in or consent status to advertising platforms.

Your choices

You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, calling either shop, or emailing us. You can ask us to update or delete your contact information at any time. We may retain repair records as required for warranty and legal purposes, and records of your text-message choices, including opt-outs, for as long as we need them to honor your choices and show we followed the law.
